The first weekend in June is the VA Department of Wildlife Resources’ Free Fishing Weekend. No fishing license is required June 4 through June 6, 2021. If you have been wanting to try out freshwater fishing, then register for Basic Fishing on Friday June 4th at 9:00 a.m. Learn about bait, casting, knots, and handling your catch. All equipment is provided. Minimum age for participation is 8 years old. Participation is limited to 25 people, so please register in advance at the park office.
