This program gives families and small groups a chance to engage in activities not otherwise scheduled during their visit to the park. Maximum group size is 10. Contact Rachel Blevins at 276-940-1643 to schedule a program of your interest daily from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Programs must be scheduled one day in advanced. Have an interest but don’t see it below? Critter Crawl: Search the creek for macroinvertebrates to help determine water quality.
Secret Life of Trees: Discover the various tree species at the park and decorate a tree cookie to take home.
Habitat in a Hula Hoop: Explore and discover the biodiversity found in an area the size of a hula hoop.
A Gawk in the Woods: Take a leisurely walk through the woods to discover all of the colors, shapes, and designs found in nature.
Tunnel Talk: Enjoy a guided walk down to the tunnel and learn about the history of the area
Tour of the Wilderness Road Blockhouse: A personalized tour of the Blockhouse area as well as a look inside the Blockhouse.
Naturalist Niche: Enjoy a guided hike with a Ranger on the trail of your choice. Discover the trees, wildlife, and other unique features you might normally miss while hiking.
