Brookside Nature Center, located in Wheaton Regional Park, provides fun experiences in our parks helping visitors develop a connection to our natural and cultural resources. The nature center interprets local natural and cultural history through: live reptile, amphibian, and fish exhibits hands-on children’s nature discovery areas, insect and mammal displays, including an observation beehive, bay-friendly backyard and schoolyard habitat demonstration garden, pioneer homestead and heritage garden, self-guided nature trail and accessible interpretive boardwalks, wildlife viewing areas, and bird, butterfly, and native plant gardens. Hours: Tuesday through Saturday 9 am – 5 pm; Sundays 1 – 5 pm. Closed Mondays and major holidays.
