Formerly known as Friends of Ryerson Woods, Brushwood Center seeks to contribute to the development of an environmentally literate citizenry that has the skills, knowledge and inclinations to make well-formed decisions that consider future generations. Brushwood Center holds that environmental education reaches beyond childhood and is a lifelong endeavor. Environmental education extends beyond science to embrace human interaction with nature and its expression, including literature, music, photography, film and other fine and performing arts.
