Calvert Vaux Park

Named for Calvert Vaux, an English architect who spent 40 years of his career in New York City, mostly working alongside Frederick Law Olmsted and designing numerous public spaces, the park is a fitting tribute to a man who valued community space so much. Largely bounded by Gravesend Bay, Calvert Vaux Park not only offers water views and glimpses of the winged wildlife naturally attracted to such an ideal setting, but also a playground, basketball courts, bocce courts, six baseball diamonds, and a soccer field.
