Hickory Grove consists of 3 areas: Hickory Grove Riverfront, Hickory Grove Highlands Park, and Lyons Prairie and Marsh. Home to an Illinois State Nature Preserve, Lyons Prairie and Marsh offers an unusual diversity of habitats. The Highlands serves as a refuge for northern Illinois wildlife while the Riverfront provides bank fishing and canoe access to the Fox River. Hiking can be enjoyed on a variety of trails totaling 4.75 miles as well as a separate horseback trail. Picnic facilities are available at the Highlands and Riverfront. Picnic shelters and camping are also available.
