State Park: Bike, Birding, Camp, Fish, Hike, Horse, Picnic, Snow Sports, Walk, Water Sports
The 7,882 acre state forest is open year round for various uses with over 47 miles of snowmobile trails, 35miles of horse trails, six miles of hiking trails and a one mile interpretive trail. There is an abundance of historic and archeological resources in this forest. These include the many cellar holes which make up the now abandoned village of South Hawley; a rare “beehive” charcoal kiln; and remains of mill and factory structures at Hallockville Pond.
