Audubon Center: Birding, Hike, Picnic, Walk
Ponds, vernal pools, buttonbush swamp, salt marsh, and other habitats make this 110-acre sanctuary a haven for many species of wildlife. Along the trails, you will find groves of tupelo, holly, and spruce trees. Surprisingly large oak trees along with red maple are interspersed throughout the property. The trails are easy to walk with gentle slopes along mowed grass paths ending with a spectacular view of Barnstable Harbor. Watch the sunny open meadows for many different species of butterflies and dragonflies and a resident pair of red-tailed hawks.
