The Naval Live Oaks Area is part of the Florida section of Gulf Islands National Seashore (the other section is located in Mississippi). Located on U. S. 98 east of Gulf Breeze, it is open daily (except Christmas Day) from 8:00 a.m. to sunset. The Visitor Center, opened from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (except Christmas Day), features a bookstore, exhibits, and showings of a closed-caption 12-minute orientation film plus nature and history videos.
