Part of Mark Twain National Forest, Pinewoods Lake was built in the late 1970s to provide fishing and other recreation opportunities, including picnicking. It is located adjacent to Highway 60, 2 miles west of Ellsinore, Missouri. Campground is closed. There is NO DRINKING WATER available. Pinewoods Lake Recreation Area is open year-round for Day Use Activities only, (6AM to 10PM) with a managed season of May 1 through October 1.
