Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge has two visitor and education centers, access areas to more than 14,000 acres of land dedicated to wildlife and wildlife-dependent recreation. Recreational opportunities on the Rapids Lake Unit include hiking, wildlife observation, photography and interpretation via several trails. Rapids Lake Education and Visitor Center in Carver is open Memorial Day – Labor Day: Tuesday – Sunday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm and Labor Day – Memorial Day: Tuesday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., closed major holidays.
