There’s something happening year-round at MetroParks’ RiverScape, downtown Dayton’s exciting new destination point. Amidst the beautiful landscape gardens, flowering pots and hanging baskets, the park is home to a full range of activities including a free summer concert series featuring the best in local entertainment every Saturday and Sunday evening, major community festivals, senior fitness programs and twilight bike rides along the river corridor hike/bike trails. A focal point of RiverScape is the Five Rivers Fountain of Lights, a series of five fountains that shoot water upwards of 200 feet and 400 feet across at the confluence of the Great Miami and Mad Rivers. Every Thursday through Sunday evening and after Dayton Dragon’s games (May to October) the fountain provides a football field size water screen for RiverScape’s FREE Laser Light and Music Shows that are attracting visitors from all over the region. And, don’t forget your bathing suit. A popular spot for visitors looking to cool off on hot summer days is the Interactive Fountain where multiple fountain jets shoot water as high as 20 feet into the air choreographed to the sounds of family friendly music.
