Calm or dancing waters surrounded by shades of green, the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway provides 252 miles of recreational opportunities. Canoe amid the northwoods, where wolves, deer, otter and porcupine can be seen or boat surrounded by wooded bluffs and historic towns. The Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 1968 created a thin narrow corridor of protection for the St. Croix and Namekagon Rivers.
Two visitor centers operate seasonally on the Riverway. Call to confirm current hours.

The St. Croix River Visitor Center and Park Headquarters Located in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, at the corner of Hamilton and Massachusetts off Highway 87. 401 North Hamilton Street (715-483-2274) Open daily, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, generally the first weekend in April through October.

The Namekagon River Visitor Center. Located in Trego, Wisconsin, just east on Highway 63 from the intersection with Highway 53. W5483 US Highway 63, (715-635-8346). Open daily, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
