This marvelous downtown Butte has the city to the south, the Willamette River to the north and hiking and biking trails all around.  It has the wonderful River Play park between the Butte and the river.  To the west are the Columns, a rock climber’s delight.  It’s an easy drive to the top, and has hiking trails coming up from the north side.

The Butte was the cornerstone of the original town settlement, with Eugene Skinner building his cabin on the side of the Butte to avoid flooding by the Willamette River.  The city got his first name, the Butte his last.

The park is 100 acres, and includes lots of places to relax and picnic.
