South of Bellbrook is Spring Lakes Park, a 23-acre fishermans’ paradise, where two adjoining ponds are kept stocked with catfish and trout. The park has a picnic shelter, grills, a bait house, a fishing pier, access to the hiking trails in Sugarcreek Reserve, and plenty of parking. You don’t need a State of Ohio fishing license, but you must purchase a Greene County fishing permit from the park attendant or by filling out the self-permitting form at the park before you fish. Park amenities: Fishing (with permit as described above), picnic shelter, hiking, fishing pier, bait house, limited facilities. Home of GCP&T Fishing Derby, held several times per year.
