Wampum Lake offers 4,800 feet of shoreline from which anglers can fish in the warmer months and plenty of ice for fishing in the winter. The lake has steep drop-off near shorelines. Wading, swimming and boating are prohibited. In addition to fishing, the 412-acre Wampum Lakes Woods contains four large groves for picnicking. The entrance to the preserve is on the north side of Thornton-Lansing Road. Parking is available along both sides of the access road.
